Quality Single Entry Door Installation

Although we do our fair share of double entry door installation at Price’s Garage & Entry Doors, the bulk of our entry door installation is for single doors. A single front entry door is the norm in Salt Lake City and across the U.S., and we have installed thousands of them in our nearly 40 years in business. Our customers appreciate our skill, experience and dedication to craft.

Choosing Your Single Entry Door

Whether you’re building your own home from the ground up or you’re simply replacing the front entry door on your Salt Lake City home, you undoubtedly have been looking at hundreds of pictures of doors in an attempt to find the right style for you and your home.

At Price’s Garage & Entry Doors, we have a wide selection of wood entry doors, steel entry doors and fiberglass entry doors. When choosing among them, you’ll want to consider their aesthetic appeal, durability and cost.

Many of our clients choose our wood entry doors for their enduring natural beauty. Nothing can compare to the look of a light-stained oak, knotty pine or rich maple.

As beautiful as wood entry doors are, they require regular upkeep and are pricier than steel entry doors. Steel doors are extremely strong and durable, as well as attractive. Fiberglass entry doors are also popular, because they offer the beauty of a wood-look exterior at a much lower price point.

Single Entry Door Installation

What our customers love about working with us is that we’re not only about entry door sales — we also provide entry door installation. That means we see you through your entry door replacement project from start to finish — from pre-selection to the moment you shut and lock your new front entry door behind you.

While single entry door installation is not as complex as double entry door installation, it still presents plenty of challenges, and that’s why it’s important to work only with professionals who have experience with entry door installations.

Improperly installed entry doors can present a host of problems. If the door is not hanging plumb and even, it can impact the integrity of the door, possibly causing warping or affecting its shape. Additionally, a crooked entry door can leave air gaps that allow your heat and air conditioning to escape, wasting energy and money. Annoyingly, a crooked entry door also may not close right, “sticking” on the side, top or bottom edge.

This issue can be resolved in a few different ways. Often, adjusting or replacing the screws that hold the hinges of the entry door can improve the fit. But if the problem is a crooked foundation or improper installation, this is not the best solution. Similarly, planing a door may make it fit better, but taking off the outer layer of your door exposes it to moisture and makes it easier for pests to penetrate. Additionally, planing is more of a last resort than a legitimate solution to an entry door not closing properly.
